A Satsuma Earthenware covered box, by Kinkozan, Japanese, Meiji period (1868-1912) decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear, crackled glaze, delicately painted with several families enjoying an autumn day, the foreground painted with parents buying sweets for their eager child, the surrounding area with a stylized foliate band followed by sprays of colorful flowers, the interior painted with blossoming peonies, signed in gilt Kinkozan Measures: 3.5 in. (8.9 cm.) diameter Provenance: Bonhams & Butterfield.
