Antique Bone Inlaid Cabinet Chinese Glass Curio

About the Item

This exceptional 3-tiered piece is an authentic turn of the century antique cabinet from Ning Bo Province. The use of two toned woods is a traditional approach. The darker wood is single panel rosewood, highly prized and desired by the Chinese throughout Chinese history. The cabinet is elaborately decorated with exquisite bone inlays. The exquisite effect is only achieved by meticulous preparation and application of carefully designed and cut bone. Butterflies and birds swirling tress in full bloom symbolize great prosperity and happiness. The cabinet consists three separate parts with the top portion a box with glass doors, mid-section a glass front display cabinet with two drawers and the bottom a chest with drawers and double door. Used together or separately, this versatile piece is a splendid focal point in any room. Solid wood. Tenons and mortises. Rare.
