Early 20th Century Chinese Carved Camphor wood Hope Chest
About the Item
This is a traditional style of Chinese antique raise carved/relief Camphor chest/trunk from China. It was sailor's hope chest with all the sailor's best wishes and hopes in it. This chest has detailed carving works of Phoenix and Peonies on the front and raised relief carving of fairy and crane, and old man boating on the front. It is opened on top and has a antique latch on the front and antique hinge at back. Made from Camphor wood liner inside so you can store your valuable clothes inside without worrying about the bugs. Inside the chest, there is a Camphor wood tray to store your stuffs. You may use it as coffee table by setting a glass penal on the top. It is not only a gorgeous antique collectible items but also a wonderful room furniture. You will love it when you have it.
