Pair of 19th Century Chinese Black Lacquered Noodle Cabinets

About

Created in China's Shanxi province, these striking, early 19th century cabinets take their name from their elegant, rounded wood frames. Austere in their simplicity, the cabinets' rich lacquer was hand applied, layer upon layer, to achieve a deep character, punctuated simply by the original brass hardware. Elegant and arrestingly modern, these timeless cabinets work wonderfully in traditional and contemporary rooms as armoires with ample storage.
