Lacquer Craftsman's Work Drawer / Antique Work Table / Wabi-Sabi Art

About the Item

We have a unique Japanese aesthetic sense. And only we can introduce unique items through our purchasing channels in Japan and the experience we have gained so far, in such a way that no one else can imitate. This is a workbench used by lacquerware craftsmen, made between the Taisho period and the early Showa period (1912-1940). I painted red and black lacquer on this workbench. The lacquer pattern on the top plate is very beautiful. After finishing applying the lacquer, you can see that the lacquer on the top plate was wiped clean. It's like looking at an abstract painting. And the top drawer is also randomly spread with lacquer. This is because the drawer was left open while I was working, and the tools were taken in and out, so only the top of the drawer has this atmosphere. It might be interesting to hang this on the wall. This drawer can also be used as an exhibition stand. The drawer opens and closes smoothly. It is difficult to obtain something like this even in Japan. It is a special item that has a culture of lacquer and is unique to Japan. There are few stores that sell such things in 1st dibs. We sell with confidence. Weight: 3.8kg.
