Circa 1900 pair of black lacquer panels mounted in a shadowbox frame, Japanese. Elegant, later Meiji period work. Gilt painted, overlaid & inlaid with abalone & mother of pearl. One features Mt. Fuji, the other a temple as background for gardens, rocks & people. Each panel is approx. 23.5" x 8.25". Now floated with protective brackets in a custom shadowbox frame.
