Bronze Ovoid Vase with High Relief Leaf Design by Nitten Artist Hirai Noboru 平井昇

About the Item

Beautiful bronze ovoid vase with a lovely icy green patina. Decorated with a continuous high relief design of all different kinds of leaves being swept around the vase by heavy gusts of wind. The lower edge signed and sealed by the artist Hirai Noboru ??? (1931). Hirai Noborua is a leading lost-wax casting artisan, and registered as a Japanese traditional artist by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry. He is a Associate member of the renowned Nitten Exhibition, where he won a price at least 19 times. He was awarded prizes as well at the "Japan Modern Art Exhibition" and "Japan Art Promotion Society". Weight 4.288 kg. Including original signed wooden tomobako. The Japan fine Arts Exhibition (??, Nitten (Nihon bijutsu tenrankai)) is a Japanese art exhibition established in 1907. The exhibition consists of five art faculties: Japanese Style and Western Style Painting, Sculpture, Craft as Art, and Sho (calligraphy). During each exhibition, works of the great masters are shown alongside works of new but talented artists. It claims to be the largest combined art exhibition of its kind in the world and the most popular in Japan. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity. Price including insured shipping.
