Chinese Archaistic Bronze Lidded Vessel with Bird Handles

About

A Chinese bronze lidded ritual vessel modeled after a Late Warring States, (3rd-2nd century BC) original. With four whimsical birds form handles as well as a fifth mushroom shaped ornament on the lid. The entire surface covered with incised Archaistic designs. Wonderful form with deep green bronze and reddish patina. A very handsome decorative piece.
