Japanese Cast Iron Tea Pot (Tetsubin) of Square Form with Anchor & Sword, Signed

About the Item

19th Century Japanese cast iron teapot or tetsubin of cube form with anchor chain handle, one side cast with a navel anchor continuing around the back and to the top where the top ring of the anchor becomes the three dimensional ring finial of the lid and attaches to a chain connected to the front of the handle, the other side of the pot has a navel sword molded on it. To the left of the spout on the front is a column of calligraphy.
