Unusual Indian Khond Attributed Stylized Patinated Metal Seated Dog Figure

About the Item

An unusual antique/vintage Indian Khond tribe attributed stylized patinated metal, possibly bronze, seated dog figure sculpture believed to date to the late 19th or early 20th century. The dog is very simply formed siting on its back legs with its tail resting on the ground and with a raised head and molded mouth and ears. The dog has unusually short front legs and paws and appears to be molded in four parts and joined around the body and to both front legs. The dog has a rough patinated finish and is believed to be made from bronze with elements of the metal worn under the feet. The dog is not marked however came as part of large Indian metal wares collection. In good condition with a wear associated to age.
