Japanese Edo Period '18th-19th Century' Wooden Box Lid

Introducing valuable items that only I, a Japanese, can find. A wooden box made in the Edo period. That lid. However, this fascinating atmosphere you will find. It is believed that it was made around the middle of Edo. In other words, in Japan, the surface of wood is scraped using a knife called "cyouna(=adze)". Soot is piled up on the uneven surface and it becomes black. It took a very long time. This item is only available in the northern part of Japan. It is difficult to find such a wooden box in Edo in Japan today. It is very valuable. You can hang it on the wall and decorate it like a picture. It can also be used as an exhibition stand to place a jar. I highly recommend it.
