20th Century Chinese Four-Panel Coromandel Screen Immortals



Stunning Mid-20th century Chinese four-panel Coromandel screen depicting Taoist eight immortals. The screen features lacquer incised panels with beautifully faded colors and a fine craquelure finish on the lacquer. The figural landscape is decorated with white cranes, ancient trees, and ruyi cloud designs. The reverse side is decorated with Chinese script calligraphy. The lacquered panels are thick and heavy having induced aging to the surface. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
