Four-panel golden screen of Rinpa school

About the Item

Japan, mid-Edo period. Floral scene of a Rimpa School garden with polychrome chrysanthemum flowers. Four-panel screen painted in pigment on rice paper and gold leaf of beautiful size and excellent age. Soft colors and strong design elements combined make it a screen of intense decorative effect. Condition is very good, the lacquered frames and silk border are original. Upon request, we can provide the metal hooks to hang the flat screen on the wall. Lucio Morini guarantees the authenticity and provenance of the work.
