About the Item
A gorgeous four-panel Showa Period Japanese Byobu folding screen featuring three luminous swimming Koi/Carp fish and the stretched branch of a venerable pine tree which leans serenely over a peaceful, quiet waterway. The vibrant, rich colors (hand-painted on silk) and beautiful detail (of the pine needles and koi fish) really makes this quite an attractive work.
Signed (in black ink) and sealed (in red) by the artist.
Likely from the mid to late Showa period (1926-1989).
A beautiful, engaging, and special work. Would be a great addition to any Japanese or Asian art/screen collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in almost any setting whether used as a room divider or hung on the wall as a work of art.
