Japanese Signed Two Panel Screen Flowering Landscape

Large Japanese two-panel screen featuring a flowering landscape over a dramatic gold leaf background. The idyllic scene has a flowering plum tree above dandelion, iris, bellflower, and pampas grass. Ink and colored pigment over squares of gilt signed by Miyata Shizan (Japanese 1888-1971) Set in a lacquered frame with gilt accents, and a brocade silk border. Made in the Nihonga school style with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Very impressive painting with vibrant colors and gold leaf patina.
