Japanese two-panel screen: "Flowers of the Highland", painted by Noriyo Yamada (as written on the reverse). Showa period (1926-1989) painting of an abstracted garden landscape. The 1950s marked a time when Japanese artists were accepting of Western influences in art. This painting is an answer to the French Impressionist style. Oil on canvas mounted in the traditional Japanese manner with a mica-finished frame.
