About the Item
A beautifully and serenely composed woodblock print by famed Japanese printmaker Kiyoshi Saito. Many consider Saito to be one of the most important, if not the most important, contemporary Japanese printmakers of the 20th century. This print is simply titled "Buddha" and is likely from a series he did on various Buddha sculptures/statues throughout Japan.
The print is signed in pencil by Saito and stamped/sealed in red within the image.
A relatively rare and hard-to-find image. Would be a great addition to any Japanese or Asian print/art collection or eye-catching stand-alone accent artwork in about any setting.

- Condition:The print is in very good to excellent vintage condition. Lightly taped along the top edge verso to the mat but can likely be removed. The mat has some wear and markings consistent with age and use (please see photos). Beautiful and engaging overall.
