Kiyoshi Saito Signed Limited Edition Japanese Woodblock Print Nishino-Kyo Nara B

About the Item

A beautifully designed and composed woodblock print by famed Japanese printmaker Kiyoshi Saito. Many consider Saito to be one of the most important, if not the most important, contemporary Japanese printmakers of the 20th century. This print, which is titled "Nishino-Kyo Nara (B)" features strong colors, bold wood grain (with beautiful elongated shadows), and an intricate balanced, complex design. The print is signed in white ink and stamped/sealed in red within the image, titled, dated (1965), and numbered (48/100) in pencil by the artist in the lower margin. A relatively rare and hard-to-find work. Would be a great addition to any modern Japanese or Asian print collection or eye-catching stand-alone accent artwork in about any setting. Professionally framed and matted with a silk mat.
