Burmese Shan Style Gilt Wood Buddha, Early 20th Century

About the Item

This early 20th century Shan style Burmese Buddha is made from wood and black lacquer covered in gilt. The Buddha maintains a Buddha Touching Earth posture. Much of the gilt has worn off the Buddha’s face contributing to a dramatic expression.
