Dating from the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820), a two sided quatrefoil panel featuring a pheasant in foliage on ebony background on its primary side; with parcel-gilt foliate vine carvings on red background, en verso. Original hand-forged metal clasp at its top.
