  • Surface Sconce Blackened Bronze
    By Henry Wilson
    Located in PARIS, FR
The blackened surface sconce is an ambient, sculptural light cast in two halves from solid gunmetal and emits a warm and atmospheric glow. The blackened finish is the result of a heat treatment. Each casting is manufactured in small batches meaning slight variations will occur from piece to piece. Production marks may include slight pour ripples or surface pitting. It will arrive with a blackened matte finish and will oxydes over time to reveal a distinctive patina. Simply use a metal polish to remove fingerprints and restore a like-new finish. Based in Sydney, Henry Wilson is an Australian designer who creates furniture, lighting, accessories and components in metal, stone and glass. Henry’s work is characterized in part by utilitarianism, with a clear form and function. Interested in the beauty of imperfection coming from handmade objects, it is important to Henry Wilson that it embodies feeling. He had made long-term collaboration with a local foundry which manufactures elements cast in bronze and aluminium as well as artisanal European stone workers. His inspirations come predominantly from Australian natural landscapes, urban topographies and light with an emphasis on resolution of forces to add energy. His work acknowledges the sophistication of centuries of technological development, design practice and philosophies of Europe and the industrialized world. Lead time : 3 to 4 weeks. Technical details : Material : blackened bronze...
