Padma Sambhav Teacher Gilt Bronze Tibetan Figure
About the Item
A beautiful, gilded bronze statue of Padma Sambhav, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. This 2 lb statue is very finely made showcasing every detail from top to base, with hand painted facial features and gilding of the highest quality. Seated in an alighting motion with his right foot forward above the edge of the lotus base, indicating readiness to educate and assist. The face with large bulging eyes, under strong focused brows, flanked by elongated earlobes wearing circular earrings, with hair draping over the shoulders behind a high crown. An elaborately embroidered dhoti with scroll pattern covers his body in multiple layers, with sashes and necklaces of pearls. A potent combination of dorje and patra in the hands wards off evils, bringing wisdom and protection. This magnificent statue of the great saint and teacher is a rare find.
