Handcrafted by Japanese artisans from wood, each doll features a characteristic simple trunk body and an enlarged head, lacking arms and legs, as typical of Kokeshi dolls. Measuring 30.5 x 7.5 cm and 37 x 10 cm respectively, this set of two dolls exudes a timeless charm and cultural significance.
Painted by hand with delicate lines defining the face and adorned with floral motifs on the body, each doll is covered with a protective layer of wax. The bottom or back of each doll bears the signature of the artist, adding to their authenticity and provenance.
