About the Item

A good quality antique Georgian wrought iron side gate reclaimed from a Grimston Park. This tall garden gate encompasses a range of styles, including the earlier Regency period, featuring smart vertical rail construction with subtle scrolls, twisting drops and spike finials. Dating from the mid 19th century, this Georgian era gate has stood the test of time for more than 180 years, ready to bring sophisticated style and security to your garden. Suitable for an opening of approximately 89 cm (35.03 in) Provenance: Grimston Park Situated in the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside, Grimston Park is a grade II listed Georgian property and estate. The settlement has existed since Viking times and has been occupied by various owners over the centuries including the Vavasours, Fairfaxes and in the 17th century, the Stanhope family who in 1603 entertained James I of England at Grimston.
