English William IV Brass Pierced Fender with Removable Fire Tool Stanchions

About the Item

English William IV pierced brass footed fender with two removable fire tool holders. The brass fender is pierced with a trailing ivy motif above and below the central bolster. Having the tool holders that allow you to rest the firetools on the iron hearth protector makes tending the fire quite easy, efficient and elegant. The fire tool stanchions are easily removed by just pulling them straight up should you not need tool holders. They are 29" high from the floor to the top of the finial. The tools rest on the iron hearth protector and do not slip out of place as there is a ridge in the protector which keeps the tools in the perfect position. The hearth protector (iron) is often found in English fenders as it protected a marble hearth from being stained by the ashes from the fireplace. Circa 1835. 43" wide x 12" deep x 8.5" high (29" high including the tool holders)
