English William IV Black Lacquered X Frame Stool with Original Gold Decoration

About the Item

English William IV X-Frame stool. This elegant stool retains its original black lacquered surface with original hand painted gold decoration. The finely detailed gold work and the beautiful shape of the cabriole legs make it a special stool. It has been reupholstered in gold velvet and brass tacks. Circa 1840. 21" long x 15" deep x 17" high

    Repaired: Three of the legs have metal reinforcements under the legs for extra strength, visible when it is turned upside down. The reinforcements were done in the 20th century. Wear consistent with age and use.
