Georgian Period Polished Gunmetal Steel Firetools With Acanthus Handles

About the Item

A very fine set of early 19th century English Georgian fire tools, with magnificent heavy cast steel acanthus leaf handles terminating in leafy knobs. Well-proportioned turnings and decorative piercing to the shovel complete the design elements. Highly polished, gunmetal steel in color, attractive darker patina in the recesses, polished out pitting to the shovel. Height of tallest: 30 ½ Widest point of shovel: 9 ¼ Depth: 1 ¼
