About the Item

This beautifully ornate fireplace, hand-carved in the Louis XV style, is made from semi-polished White Carrara marble. It features delicately-carved floral details on both the lintel and the legs. Hand-carved shells are also featured in the center lintel detail, and at the tops of both legs. Acanthus leaves appear at the bottoms of the legs. The curved top of the fireplace opening is indicative of the Louis XV period, as is the scrolling at the tops and bottoms of the legs. Layers of carved molding appear in the curved opening, and throughout each piece of the surround. An ornate, curved hearthstone with an ogee edge detail is also included. This fireplace would be a beautiful focal point in a Primary Bedroom or Living Room.
