About the Item
A unique and most decorative Continental 19th century Louis XVI st. Burl Redwood, Ebonized Fruitwood and Ormolu pedestal. This stunning pedestal is raised by an Ebonized Fruitwood plinth supporting a socle adorned with richly chased Ormolu vines and foliage. Supported by the base is a richly textured Burl Redwood central column decorated at the base and capital with finely detailed Ormolu mounts, and an Ormolu grape vine spiraling upward. Above is the square Ebonized Fruitwood display shelf with a elegant mottled border.
