Italian Grand Tour Marble Pedestal

About the Item

This marble pedestal constructed from three separate types of stone is a form seen through the 17th to the 19th centuries, circa 1880. Of white marble, the inset formal front panel is made of rare Alabastro Fiorito banded onyx and the whole is set off with black Belgian fossilized marble. Crafted in the later part of the 19th century in Italy this pedestal is perfect for small statuary or an important display vase.
