Midcentury Teal Garden Planter with Circular Opening and Tapering Lines
Located in Yonkers, NY
A Midcentury teal glazed ceramic garden planter with circular mouth and tapering lines. Hailing from the golden age of design, this Midcentury ceramic garden planter is a brilliant blend of form and functionality. Coated in a vibrant teal glaze, the planter captures the spirit of the era with its bold hue and clean, elegant lines. The pot starts with a generous circular mouth, gently tapering as it descends, an architectural nod to the era's minimalist aesthetic. The subtle crackle design over its surface accentuates the depth of its teal glaze. Perfect for contemporary and vintage-inspired homes alike, this planter is more than just a vessel for your flora. Pair of 19th Century French Terracotta Urns After Claude Ballin
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
A pair of mid to late 19th century French terracotta garden urns with cherubs after a design by Claude Ballin (1615-1678). An almost identical depiction in bronze resides in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. This pair were sourced from an estate in Scotland. Each is of a matching design depicting a large, highly decorative urn with lattice border, turned socle and embellishments between twin handles in the form of sulking cherubs above lion faces. Thanks to their impressive scale and aged, ancient look, this pair of antique vases make a magnificent feature in any setting, instilling a space with grandeur and period French opulence. Goldsmith to Louis XIV, Claude Ballin was a talented French goldsmith and metalworker of the 17th century. Commissioned to create several garden vases for the Palace of Versailles, Ballin’s vases and urns gained popularity throughout Europe. A drawing from the Met Museum pictured showcases the design for a large vase executed in bronze for the gardens of Versailles...

Vintage Moroccan Tamgroute Green Olive Jar with Handles
Located in North Hollywood, CA
Moroccan Tamgroute vintage, 1960's green olive jar with handles, or planter. Handcrafted by the Berber people in Tamgroute Morocco. Great glazed earthenware with different hues of green and black. A pair is available, slightly different glaze Top diameter is 10" inside opening is 7" D. Jar is 38" H x 20" D in the widest part. Wonderful green and brown shimmering that can be found only in south Morocco in the village of Tamgroute. The color and texture is a result of the particular alchemy created by the potters of Tamegroute and remains a family affair handed down through the generations. Each pottery piece is completely unique and no two are ever the same. Please note that the traditional method in which the plates are fired involves stacking which result in tiny ‘scars’ inside the plate and in the glaze making, each bowl is unique the beauty is found in the imperfection of each piece. Tamegroute pottery are true showpieces showing that even imperfect can be perfect. Tamegroute remains the only rural pottery in Morocco using oxidized copper which creates its famous green color. Its potteries are also the only location where you will find their unique forms. The process however remains much the same. Clay is dug up from the local Draa river banks, thrown by hand & fired inkilns built into steep slopes using a single firing. Vintage green glazed pottery...

Impressive 19th Century Warwick Vase
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
An impressive 19th century terracotta scale Warwick Vase standing on a weathered terracotta pedestal. Stamped ‘Blanchard & Co’, this particular design features in their 1869 illustrated catalogue of Beautiful Works of Art: Terracotta (pictured), so we are confident that it dates from this period. Though smaller than the original, this Warwick Vase is of impressive scale, standing at 1.5m tall. It comprises of 2 components: the decorative vase and its pedestal. The vase is detailed with an egg and dart moulded rim above male and female masks among vine leaves, berries and scrolls in high relief and entwined handles as it is in the original. The pedestal is simpler, featuring moulded wreath decoration, elevating the urn to eye level so that its grandeur can be closely observed. It is approximately 160 years old and as such features age-related weathering, chips, losses and historic restorations, each adding to the time-worn appeal of the piece. Core details of the vase remain intact making it instantly recognisable as the famous Warwick Vase. Provenance This terracotta Warwick Vase and pedestal was sourced from Bodfach Hall, a historic country house with expansive grounds in the heart of the Welsh Marches. It resided here in the gardens until recently as an impressive late 19th century item of statuary. The Warwick Vase The original Warwick Vase, often closely associated with the Albani Vase...

Archibald Knox' Liberty Celtic ‘Beowulf’ Planter
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
An early 20th century Arts and Crafts style Celtic planter or jardiniere and pedestal in terracotta after a design for Liberty’s London (stamped) by celebrated designer Archibald Knox. Titled ‘Beowulf’, this large Celtic plant pot designed by Knox was manufactured for Liberty’s by J. Carter and Co, as is stamped on the socle. Carters made stone garden ware and terracotta for Liberty between 1900 and 1910. Often unstamped, Celtic style planters like these are often mistakenly attributed to the Compton Pottery. However, we can be certain that this one was made for the luxury department store in London due to the ‘Liberty & Co’ stamp on the inside. Archibald Knox (1864-1933) was a pioneer of modern 20th century design. He was Liberty’s primary designer at the height of their success during the early 20thcentury, his balance of Arts and Crafts, Modernism, Celtic Revival...
