This lovely and large scale pair of French crystal and bronze vases measure 30 inches in height. They would look wonderful on a table or console flanking a piece of art or a mirror. However, they are tall enough to be placed on the floor. The classical campana shaped crystal body has been handcut with repeating gadroon decoration of alternating sizes: a thin, flattened curve followed by a much wider and rounded curve. This gadroon pattern is repeated twice more on the body – once around the waist and once around the stem. If you look closely, you can see tiny air bubbles in the crystal, indicating that the vases were in fact handcrafted. The rim has been cast in bronze doré and adorned with a repeating slanted ciselure. Ciselure is the French method of carving décor...
