About the Item

This antique crystal and gilt bronze basket has no maker's marks, but is presumed to have originated from Austria and dates to approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. The basket itself is done with a hand-crafted clear glass with a fluted base. The handle and supports are done in an ornately cast bronze with a gilt finish with ornate pierced floral decoration and stylized garland foliage. The basket is quite large standing over seventeen inches in height and could function as a vase or centerpiece.
