Chinese Export Porcelain Plate with Judgement of Paris Scene Circa 1750
Located in Katonah, NY
An 18th-century Chinese export porcelain plate showing the Judgment of Paris. The delicately painted figures derive from a painting by Jean Paul Rubens.
Made during the Qianlong Reign, circa 1750, the plate shows the goddesses Venus, Minerva, and Juno on one side and Paris on the other side. The rim of the plate is decorated with a rose-red flower band.
