Mid-Century Modern Steuben Twin Scroll Oval Bowl

A fine American art glass bowl. By Steuben Glass. Designed by George Thompson in 1949. Likely dates to the 1970s. Of an oval form with two folded crystal "scrolls" to the sides. Model no. 7970. Signed with an etched "Steuben" signature to the base. Simply a wonderful mid-century modern Steuben bowl. Date: Mid-20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are scratches to the underside, as well as a few tiny flea bites or fritting to the foot rim. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Steuben / George Thompson Pattern Name: No. 7970 Marks: Etched "Steuben" signature Measurements: Width: ca. 9 1/2 in. Height: ca. 4 3/4 in. Depth: ca. 6 1/4 in.
