Tashiko Tazaezu Signed Mid-Century Japanese Studio Pottery Glazed Oxblood Bowl

About the Item

An absolutely gorgeous and wonderfully glazed large bowl by famed Japanese American pottery master Toshiko Takaezu. The bowl features a quite rare luminescent, dark oxblood red drip glaze with a splash of colors in the bowl's center. It is a unique and one-of-a-kind work. The piece radiates in the light. The bowl is signed on the base with her traditional "TT" mark/ monogram. This work has a wonderful Wabi-Sabi feel to it with a brilliant, exceptionally rare glaze. Would be a great addition to any collectors of Toshiko's or other Mid-Century Modern/ Japanese/ Hawaiian artist's pottery works or make for an eye-catching stand-alone accent work in about any setting. Gorgeous and special overall. Takaezu was designated a living treasure in Hawaii in 1987.
