19th Century Italian Writing Box with Macassar Veneer and Silver Mounts
About the Item
Beautiful antique writing slope case. The chest is veneered with Macassar wood. Decorated with silver mounts. The interior is made of birdseed maple wood. The slope has a dark blue velvet lining. With lock and working key. Inside there is a small copper plate from the maker 'Cagiati & Co, Rome'. Nothing is known about this maker. The bos is in very nice condition.
