This is an antique commemorative tobacco keeper. An English, lead decorative snuff box with tamper, dating to the Regency period, circa 1810. Commemorative keeper crafted at the beginning of the Regency period Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order Weathered lightly, the stout lead exudes aged character Pleasing weight of 1.06 kg (2.33 lb) and a cool, tactile feeling in the hand The domed lid topped with a plume of feathers finial and foliate border detail Front and rear fascia decorated with quality plume of feather relief Chased foliate borders repeat upon the upper and lower edges The pleasingly clean interior features a removable lead trapper This is a fascinating antique commemorative tobacco keeper, of superior lead form and with an appealing weathered finish.
