An 18th century English Staffordshire green glazed ceramic tea canister, circa 1765, inspired by Chinese metal and ceramic forms, of rectangular form with canted corners, with applied press-molded prunus blossom decoration to both sides, with cover. Beautiful form and color. Formerly in the collection of two prominent ceramic collectors. Provenance: Wynn A. Sayman, Massachusetts The Collection of Harry Root, Chicago
