Amazing Antique Russian Imperial Silver Tea Caddy, Loskutov, Moscow 1889

About the Item

A fine quality antique Russian Imperial silver tea caddy, engraved and hand Embossed in the classical Russian style, or even islamic taste. All hand made repoussé work, with intricate designs and engravings on Them, the repoussé work is very deep and made in the best quality there is. The interior is gold plated to prevent the tea from taking the taste of silver. Marked with assay mark of Anatoly Apollonovich Archybashev, Moscow, Dated 1889. the makers mark is not featured in modern russian silver books. Because this makers works are rare to find or see. it was made by a member Of the Loskutov family, probably Grigory Grigoryevich Loskutov, but his Marks are not recorded. The family main works can be seen in the works of the Sazikov factory and At the Ovchinnikov and Khlebnikov factories, this factories were suppliers to The royal family so their works were exquisite and fine The caddy is marked in four places, the cap, neck, one of the sides & also to The base, stamped for Moscow 1889. This item is a show stopper, quality is superb and this will benefit any russian Art or silver collection.
