About the Item

Antique Bombay shaped English pearlware tea caddy with a distinctive decoration in blue cobalt. The caddy is hand decorated with flower pendants draped from rings painted from a continuous line which traces the edges of the shoulder of the caddy below the cylindrical neck. The caddy is fitted with a replaced lid of turned hardwood. There is a chip in the glaze at the base molding. England, circa 1780.
