About the Item

an extra-large Danish sterling silver Georg Jensen Grape candlestick, design #264 by Georg Jensen in 1926. A large art nouveau style candlestick with the characteristic ornamental curved lines, organic structures, decorative ornaments of flora and fauna. The Grape motif from 1918 became a signature Georg Jensen design and contributed to his reputation as a leading silver designer. Measurements: H: 11 7/8″. Diameter of base: 5 3/4″ (30.2cm, 14.7cm). Hallmarks: year stamp N10 for 1987. Weight: 1315 grams (46,38 oz.) All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.

    A magnificent, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Danish sterling silver two light Pomegranate pattern candelabra made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent and rare antique Danish cast sterling silver candelabra have a circular bulbous form, in the Pomegranate pattern. The surface of each exceptional example of antique silverware has a subtly planished finish. Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked scrolling arms, supporting two rounded organic-shaped baluster capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. The scrolling arms of each candelabra incorporate magnificent scrolling leaf and bead decoration, all in the Arts and Crafts style. The plain bulbous columns surmount a plain circular foot, accented with a petal decorated border to the junction. The bases of these magnificent cast candelabra are not weighted. The hallmarks struck to the underside and one of arm of each include: Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (these marks were used between 1925-1932) Designer's mark: GI (Georg Jensen) Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling, 925, S (925/1000) Country mark: Denmark Importer's mark: GS (Stockwell & Co (George Stockwell)) Import hallmark: London Import date mark: q (1931) Such examples struck with full London import hallmarks are rare to the market.
