Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Marble and Bronze Candelabras
About the Item
A striking and high quality true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, ormolu, and Rouge Griotte marble candelabras, attributed to H. Ferrat. Each six arm candelabra is raised by an octagonal Rouge Griotte marble base with a fine beaded ormolu band. The circular central supports display mottled wrap around bands below most decorative fluted designs with richly chased fitted ormolu foliate chandelles. The beautifully detailed bronze statues above depict maidens draped in wonderfully executed classical attire and carrying amphora on their shoulders with ribbons in their hair. The arms above display five straight patinated bronze supports with scrolled pierced foliate movements. Each arm is adorned with outstanding ormolu candle cups and draped with ormolu chains and elegant foliate pendants. All original gilt and patina throughout.
