Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu Candelabras
About the Item
A most elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu candelabras. Each three arm candelabra is raised by a fine circular base with a detailed Coeur de Rai wrap around band and acanthus leaves. The tapered central supports display richly chased swaging oak leaf garlands with fine tied ribbons. The elegantly scrolled arms are adorned with acanthus leaves and display beaded bobeches, lovely candle cups with swaging garlands and delicate fluted designs. Above are striking reeded urns of prosperity with the impressive eternal flames at the top.
