Pair of French Early 19th Century Louis XVI St Candelabras
About the Item
An elegant pair of French early 19th century Louis XVI style with white carrara and black Belgian marble and ormolu two light candelabras. The pair are raised by a square white Carrera marble base below a black Belgian marble plinth, decorated with a mottled and reeded ormolu bottom border with rich chasing. Above the plinth is an ormolu support with a beaded trim on both ends. A white Carrera marble column above is also decorated with a beaded ormolu trim, joined with 'C' scrolled ormolu serpent mounts with chains and hanging crystals on each side. An elongated ormolu stem with "S' scrolls and an acorn finial above are flanked by two electrified candles with 'C' scrolled arms, joined by a large crystal below. A chain is connecting the stem and the candle cups which are decorated in a reeded design amidst acanthus leaves.
