About the Item

These charming gilded bronze candelabra, crafted in 19th century Italy, showcase the exquisite artistry of their era. Each piece is designed to hold two candles and features intricate naturalistic motifs, creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow when lit. These candelabra exemplify the late 19th century fascination with botanical motifs, which would later become a hallmark of the Art Nouveau movement. The tripod base, expertly cast in bronze, takes the form of intertwining vine leaves. This botanical theme continues throughout, with vine leaves and tendrils shaping the arms that support the candle cups. The central stem presents a stylized tree trunk, its surface adorned with veins, flowers, and berries that seem to emerge from the metal. At the stem's base, a large open flower resembling a gerbera daisy unfurls its petals. This floral motif is echoed in the decorative elements adorning the drip pans beneath each bobeche, enhancing the overall naturalistic appeal. These candelabra showcase extraordinary detail in their chasing and engraving. The artisan's skill is evident in the romantic yet realistic representation of natural elements, from delicate flower petals to textured vine leaves. This meticulous craftsmanship elevates these pieces from functional objects to exquisite works of decorative art. With a height of 28 cm (11 inches), these candelabra are versatile additions to any interior. They are well-suited for both decorative display and practical use during festive dinners. Their stature allows for unobstructed conversation while still making a visual impact. These gilded bronze candle holders offer numerous display possibilities. They can serve as elegant accents on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or bookshelf. Placed on a dressing table or commode, they add a touch of luxury to bedroom decor. In a dining room, they can transform a console table into a sophisticated vignette or grace a festive table setting. The candelabra embody the refined taste and craftsmanship of 19th century Italian decorative arts. Their harmonious blend of natural forms and ornate details creates a captivating focal point in any setting, whether illuminated or appreciated as sculptural objects.
