English square base Queen Anne candlestick, 1750-60

About the Item

Seam cast brass Queen Anne candlestick with cylindrical, medial beaded candle cup with a circular dished, square bobeshe. The candle cup sits on a short cylindrical post, above a four petal scolloped knob continuing down the shaft to a suppressed knob and tapered terminal, peened to a domed and dished circle within a raised square base. Design is after a silver model. Birmingham, England, 1750-60.
