Antique French Gilt Bronze and Enamel Miniature Carriage Clock

About the Item

Antique French gilt bronze and enamel miniature carriage clock French, late 19th Century Clock: Height 11cm, width 5.5cm, depth 5cm Case: Height 11cm, width 7cm, depth 7cm This small and elegant gilt bronze carriage clock is crafted in the Neoclassical style. The clock features a frame modelled with gilt bronze fluted columns and a classical entablature. The side panels of the frame are inset with enamel plaques painted with Rococo style scenes, while the front of the clock features a white enamel dial surrounded by an elaborate scrolling foliate gilt bronze mount. The base of the clock is inset with enamel landscape panels, and the top is surmounted by a shaped gilt bronze handle. The clock comes with its leather travel case, which is open to the front, allowing the dial to be read.

A fine and unusual miniature carriage or boudoire clock in silver gilt and decorated with pink guilloche enamel on four sides, with fine engine turned design to the back, by Eterna.
