Unique Art Nouveau French Mantel Clock, Brass & Copper Case, circa 1900

About the Item

A stunning large Art Nouveau brass and hammered copper mantel or table clock, the pointed arch square section clock case surmounted by a female mask, a brass chapter ring with Arabic numerals set within a pierced brass case backed with hammered copper work, a cut lime green jewel to the centre front, three green glass squares to each side, with cast flying buttresses and a flared base embellished with three moonstone cabochons. Manufactured circa 1900, the French two train movement with outside count wheel, striking the hours and half hours on a bell, with maker's mark of P.R to oval cartouche and numbered 3108. This clock has been subject to a total overhaul and is in very good overall condition. This is a unique clock and may have been commissioned as a special 'one off' order for a client. It would make a fabulous decorative item for a period or contemporary home.
