Fine and Large Antique Charles X Mantel Clock of Ajax

Fine and large antique Charles X mantel clock of Ajax. The clock features the magnificent figure of the Trojan warrior Ajax leaning upon the clock case. He is wearing a cloak and his war helmet. The clock has been made of well patinated bronze and superbly figured red griotte marble and ormolu. The clock stands upon ormolu bracket feet. The dial is silvered and has blued steel hands. The movement is of 8 day duration striking the hours and halves on a bell and is regulated by a silk suspended pendulum. The backplate of the movement is stamped J.R.
